Residential conversion of Grade II listed mill

Glasshouses Mill is a former flax and hemp mill located within the Nidderdale valley, a short drive from Harrogate. The Mill dates back to 1812 and is Grade II Listed. It is surrounded by a series of ancillary buildings including a pugmill, warehouse, barn and stables block all of which form part of the group listing.

In 2016, O’Neill Associates obtained planning permission on behalf of developers, Newby, for the conversion of buildings within the mill complex for residential use. Overall, there will be 54 units provided across the site, delivering much needed homes and community facilities, as well as a small element of commercial space

The mill building has now been successfully restored as part of Phase 1 of the development to provide 1-4 bed luxury apartments. The second phase of the development, which is due for completed in 2020, will involve conversion of the ancillary structures along with new build development to provide further residential dwellings.
