Langwith College, University of York

Langwith College was the second residential college to be delivered and occupied at the University of York’s new Heslington East campus.

The development comprised over 18,500m2 of floor space and provided flexible accommodation for over 600 students in a range of studio flats, shared cluster flats and terrace houses. The college also included a central hub housing the College reception and student social and welfare facilities.

The residences are designed to create an open and inviting atmosphere, extending the University’s established collegiate environment to the new campus and creating a strong college identity and sense of student community.

Proposals were brought forward as a joint venture between the University and Evans Property Group, and O'Neill Associates worked closely with both parties to lead on the preparation, submission and successful resolution of a reserved matters planning application.
