Dining Hall for York Preparatory School

The campus of St Peter’s School has been undergoing a programme of renewal as set out in their 2015 campus masterplan.

As part of this O’Neill Associates secured successful planning applications for several components of the masterplan, including for the demolition and replacement of the dining hall for the younger students which required replacement due to an increased pupil roll.  

The project involved demolition in the conservation area and replacement with a larger, more adaptable building. 

The need to preserve large mature trees at the site and to protect the existing outdoor play space posed their own challenges with the designs of the new dining hall being sympathetic to the listed buildings on campus.

Further successful planning applications included for a new boathouse and for the upgrade of a listed school building.
