Location: York

Planning consent has been granted for the demolition and replacement of the dining hall at St Peter's School in York.

When an increased pupil roll resulted in the need for a larger dining hall for the younger pupils at the school O'Neill Associates was brought in to prepare a planning application for the new dining hall.

The project involved demolition in the conservation area and replacement with a larger, more adaptable building.

The need to preserve large mature trees at the site and to protect the existing outdoor play space posed their own challenges with the designs of the new dining hall being sympathetic to the listed buildings on campus.
