Hotel Du Vin, Stratford
Working with our long-standing client S Harrison Developments, O’Neill Associates helped secure planning permission for the conversion and extension of two Georgian townhouses in the centre of Stratford on Avon to hotel use.
The two grade 2* listed Georgian townhouses in the central Conservation Area, had been in previous use as offices and a social club. Having suffered numerous unsympathetic interventions they were in need of significant work to secure their future in the long term.
The hotel scheme faced a number of challenges to secure a functional hotel in the existing listed buildings whilst securing a substantial extension to create an economically viable scheme in a sensitive heritage environment.
As well as co-ordinating the planning application, O’Neill Associates also provided an Economic Impact Assessment that successfully demonstrated the public benefits of the scheme that balanced the less than substantial harm to heritage assets.
The hotel opened in 2018.
