Electrical showroom, contractors' depot and workshop

Herbert Todd and Son had been located in the centre of York for 40 years but due to expansion the business required modern premises for their electrical sales, repair and contracting business. 

Expansion necessitated relocation in order to enable the business to grow and there was a need to increase visibility for its clients. 

The proposed development site at Monks Cross was located in a mixed retail and employment district and was allocated for employment use. Due to lack of demand for the site O'Neill Associates successfully argued that the showroom and workshop was an acceptable use and planning permission was secured in August 2016.
