In January O’Neill Associates obtained full planning permission at Committee for the change of use of an 8061m2 building from a research centre (use class B1) to a D1 use class for occupation by the University of York, along with some external changes.

Following its conversion; the main building will be occupied by the Management School, providing academic offices, seminar rooms, tutorial facilities and a café. The Department of Electronic Engineering will occupy the annex.

The internal refurbishment works are now taking place and will include an upgrade of the building’s energy performance to achieve a ‘very good’ BREEAM rating.
