Planning permission has been obtained for residential development on a former school site within a tight knit residential area. The scheme included the demolition of 3 buildings on the site, the construction of 24 flats in 3 separate blocks with parking and comprehensive landscaping. O’Neill Associates provided input to the layout and design to help address objections that local residents raised to a previous planning application. Part of the site lies within a Conservation Area and the scheme respects adjacent buildings and open spaces and has proper regard to local scale as well as proportion, detail and materials. The Practice established the case for redundancy of the educational use and flood risk and drainage issues were also successfully addressed.
