Planning permission has been obtained for two large extensions to this hotel to provide 44 additional bedrooms and improved restaurant and leisure facilities. The scheme incorporates an enhancement and extension of landscaping within the site including the provision of wildflower roofs on existing and proposed buildings. The Company guided the client in the initial design proposals to help devise a scheme that would address problems associated with a previous scheme that had a 300 signatory petition submitted against it. This included advising and assisting with a public exhibition of the revised proposals. Issues of archaeology, sustainability, drainage, flood risk, transport, security and contamination were addressed comprehensively and the amended scheme received unanimous approval from Planning Committee Members. The proposals will help this successful operation, Accor Hotels’ best performing business and leisure sector hotel in the UK outside of London, to upgrade its facilities from 3* to 4* and make a stronger contribution to the city’s tourist economy.

Client Quote:“Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to a particularly complicated and time consuming project. Your guidance has helped us secure an approval for a project which was once 'dead in the water'. I hope to work with you again soon”
