O’Neill Associates were appointed by Buccleuch Properties to lead the submission of a revised Outline Planning Application for development of 10ha of agricultural land near Scotch Corner for offices and a distribution centre.
The extant consent included restrictions on floorspace, building heights and the commitment to an over-specified access to the site, which risked the development of an economically viable business park.
The Practice negotiated with the Local Planning Authority, Highway Authority and the Highways Agency to achieve a revised scheme incorporating a distribution centre of double the floorspace; 8,400m² of office space; comprehensive landscaping; and an alternative access for the site.
