Planning Appeals
Staff undertake a range of planning appeals via written representations, hearings and public inquiries. As well as representing private and corporate clients, recent appeal work has included acting for a National Park, local planning authorities, housebuilders, commercial developers and one of the UK's leading independent schools. Appeals have covered the following sectors:
Residential including, urban design, conservation area, development density and PPG3 issues, infill in
Green Belt village, social housing in city location, redevelopment of a former RAF base.
Rural including, justification for agricultural workers dwelling, justification for extension to
agricultural building, conversion of agricultural outbuildings to residential, rural affordable
housing in Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Commercial including, hotel developments in central York, major developed site in York
draft Green Belt.
Historic Context including, redevelopment of commercial property in a Conservation
